Fire safety training with an AI instructor that answers in around a hundred languages.

There are around 3,600 fires a year at Swedish workplaces. The Civil Protection Act requires staff to be trained, but the usual format, a gathering in the canteen at ten on a Tuesday, works badly for shift operations and for workplaces where staff speak many different languages.

Johan Grimståhl and Fredric Lundqvist have over twenty years between them in the fire service, as firefighters and as inspectors. Lundqvist also has a background as a programmer. They built a course where the instructor is an AI that both teaches and answers follow-up questions, spoken or written, in around a hundred languages. It runs in the browser, whenever it suits, at the employee's own pace.

The point isn't that the training is digital. It's that someone whose first language isn't Swedish can ask their question in their own language and get an answer, instead of nodding through a session they didn't understand.
